Saint Barnabas the Apostle
“I want you to deal with your problems by becoming rich.” — Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street
“See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” — Jesus of Nazareth
This Sunday, we will be celebrating the feast of St. Barnabas, the early disciple who brought Paul into the community at Antioch—where they were first called Christians. Barnabas was known for his generosity and kindness to the poor. He was sent as a sheep among the wolves and maintained his sheep-y ways through it all! And so, we honor his serpentine wisdom and dove-like gentleness as an example for our own lives.
See you on Sunday!
